detecting people on my Wireless Network?

I know there is a program some where out there, but i cant seem to get the right words into google. Basically I have a G network but i really dont care if someone drives by and wants to use my net, unless they are using it aginst me. I live in a very small town, so im not feeling threatened at the moment. All i would need is a tool to detect other wireless clients on my network, i know you can do it though the router its self, but was wondering if there was anything better? If it matters, I have 2 *nix servers that i could run it on, buch of XP desktops, and 1 W2k Advance server.

Thanks

I'm not sure if I have your answer but I give it a shot.

Get the first 6 numbers of the mac address from NS and to verify the vendor, go to http://standards.ieee.org/regauth/oui/index.shtml and enter them there. (I assume this is verification of what NS is claiming the device is)

I assume you are looking for verification or a source that is platform indepentant. If not sorry.

Huh? I don't think he was asking about OUI's.

...and the Friendly MAC address file tends to be case sensitive. At least it was for me.

I couldn't get AirSnare to let me add a MAC manually. I could only add a MAC once it was detected by the program. Anything added manually didn't show up so case didn't matter.

I just ran a ping sweep of my entire subnet to get all responding IP's and then verified that I knew what each one was before I added it as a friendly.

thats what happened when I ran it on my network.. all my MAC's were listed as unfriendly...but you can add them from there,
there is also a .txt or .ini file you can even edit and give description to via notepad. this is VERY useful if you want to clone the friendlys over to a friends.. say.. next door.
