Homemade Antenna
Hi.

I have already searched through these forums and found heaps but it is really confusing.

In about a week, I will have my Orinoco card with an external antenna jack. I was going to buy a cheap 7db antenna off eBay. But then I read that they are crap so I am not buying one.

I want to build my own antenna for wardriving so I would probably need a omnidirectional antenna?

Can someone please give me a link to a really easy to build antenna that would be good for wardriving?

there are alot of "cantenna" designs out there.. but for general wardriving I think you will find that 5.5 db omni from Fab-corp (about 50-60 bux) more than enough.

Thanks for the advice but I would prefer a DIY solution rather than buying an antenna.

Pay attention now.
Here are the step by step instructions to help you out:

Put your mouse cursor just slightly to the left of the 2 in the following line:

2.4 gHz high gain omni build

Press down firmly on the LEFT button and DRAG your cursor to highlight the line to the last character, in this case a 'd'. Release the button and press the RIGHT KEY on the mouse and release. From the drop down menu, pick 'Copy'. Now, open the following URL: www.google.com

Position the mouse cursor inside the long white box that appears by the brightly colored Google name. Press the RIGHT mouse button and release. From the drop down menu, click on the line that says 'paste'.

You now should have a line that looks like the attached picture.

Press the enter key. Like magic, your answer appears!
