How can I secure network w/ a Win98 machine on it?
Pardon the n00b question. I've got a WRT54G router, and two wireless machines.. one is my Inspiron 8600 w/ XP SP2. The other machine is a Compaq I believe (desktop) with Win98, using a NetGear 802.11g USB adapter.
I'd like to turn on WPA-PSK, but I don't think the Win98 machine will know how to handle it. Is this assumption correct? I assume it's up to the operating system to know how to work with it, not the actual wi-fi adapter. Is WEP the best I can do with the Win98 machine on the network? Thanks. |
