MCA as in MicroChannel Architecture? I thought I was the only one with a PS/2 model 80-A21 in my trunk for war driving! <JK!>
Perhaps there is something you can do with WMI (assuming you are running Windows)? I was experimenting around with such a "netstumbler-like" tool that worked better with other cards before 0.4 came out then I shelved it due to time constraints/new NS. I am not sure you can get the info you desire from WMI, but seems reasonable to check. try this for a starting point on WMI if you are not familiar with it: http://www.serverwatch.com/tutorials...le.php/2178391 USe a WMi explorer/browser to see if the data is somewhere in the data structures first then figure out how to read/poll for it.

thanx
however i'm still not able to poll my D-link Airplus wireless adaptor (DWL-650+) for client side RSSI. The WMI seems to give only driver details. how exactly does one get access to the data structures where these values are stored. |

Some of it is specific to ORiNOCO, but the information about NDIS 5.1 and the Wireless Research API may prove helpful.
