Increase the reception of the WIFI card

Hello
How can I increase the reception of my WIFI card as I travel a lot & in some hotels the reception is pretty bad in some rooms.Can anyone suggest a cheap solutions.

Does your "WiFi card" allow for an external antenna? Ask the front desk for a room with known good reception? I know if I was running the place I would have a coverage map (but thats just the geek in me).

If your running off battery, your wifi card will not be at full strength. you can disable the power saving features of the card to run at full power.

Build one
