Knoppix STD

Does anyone recommend using Knoppix STD? I have tried to compile the AirSnort on my windows box but have been unsuccessful since im really not a programmer. It seems as though most tools used for wifi security/hacking are not made for windows. I have also heard of this Whoppix OS but that seems more like something a blackhat would use daily lol. Any or all opinions are appreciated. Thanks.

Knoppix-STD has not been updated for a LONG time, but it is still very useful. I will eventually get to making my own version.

The only thing I am really worried about when learning this is having all of the updated tools. I will probably be running this under vmware on my laptop since my laptop is wireless. I am just hoping that Knoppix STD isn't too outdated. Thanks for the comments fellas.

Auditor has more updated tools than Knoppix STD. VM Ware is not needed for these though, as they do not install on to the hard drive. They boot and run off the cd. Also with the way VM Ware works you wouldn't be able to take advantage of alot of the wireless tools.

I really like it. Especially since I have a prism 2 card (Senao 2511). There are neat things like the switch-to-wlanng, and swicth-to-hostap scripts that let me switch between the different prism 2 drivers.
