LoS into city, need hardware advice
Hello,
I just moved outside of Chicago to this building that happens to be situated on the highest point in the county. From my balcony, I have a direct line of sight into the city (I can see the skyline). My powerbook picks up 3 networks without an additional antenna, however, I am intrigued to see just how many I can find. My question is regarding hardware: the goal is to have the widest "range" possible. I don't know much about all this WiFi stuff, so what would be the best router and antenna setup to go with (and yet still affordable). I was looking to buy a cantenna, but if I can find something much stronger (since I have a prime location), that would be cool too. Adam ![]() |
