Magellan 700 and netstumbler
yes, I am a newbie. I have a Dell laptop with no serial ports and a Magellan 700 which transmits data via a USB port. Is the software I need to get to netstumbler by creating a virtual com port GpsGate?? or is there some other software to use?

I don't think GPSGate supports the USB Magellan GPS's directly, only the Garmin brand AFAIK. Edit: As far as I can see, the Magellan Roadmate 700 is a selfcontained navigation system, without any output of NMEA data through the USB port. The USB port is only used to transfer POI lists, addressboks etc between a PC and the selfcontained GPS system. The USB driver available on the Magellan site, adds access to the GPS harddrive, where maps and POI list etc is stored. It doesn't provide output for continous positiondata in the form of NMEA or a proprietary protocol. That means you can't use the Magellan Roadmate 700 with a PC for navigation. Dutch
