Need Wireless help

Hi All, I have a toshiba with a Atheros 5001x. I'm trying to connect it to a linksys access point WAP54G version 1.1. I have had no luck in getting the two to connect. On my network, I am also running a desktop with a linksys wireless card in it and it has been fine. Can anyone help???? I'm getting deperate.

Thanks,

Well my magic 8ball says that we need more information. What have you tried to do to resolve it? What does "had no luck" entail? You're not winning at the slots? How about some information for us to go on to even offer you some reasonable help.

It's just a waste of time for us to play 20 quesitons.

OK. So far I have tried to access the wireless network through my network places. I disabled the lan connection and the computer says that no wireless network is available. I'm not sure what else to do.

What OS is on the notebook? If it's XP, are you using Wiresless Zero Configuration or a connection manager for your wireless card?

Does your notebook have a button on it to turn on the radio on the card? I know that some newer notebooks have a way to turn that off, but leave the card showing as configured and working. It might look like an antenna. Did you RTM of your Laptop?

RTM = Read the Manual

Sometimes the button's are obvious.

Is this card an internal, or PCMCIA/Cardbus card?

I don't know if this is the right one or not, since that model number doesn't really match, but.. check out page 118 of this PDF..
