netstumbler 0.4 runaway resources
Hi,
I'm just trying out the new 0.4 with my Thinkpad A21p and an SMC 2835W card. However, when I start Netstumbler, it never goes passed the welcome screen and starts sucking resources (pins the CPU at a 100% and starts eating memory). Has anyone else seen this or have any suggestions? I'v tried uninstalling and re-installing to no avail. Jeff |

I have the same 100% and memory problem
Loaded up Netstumbler .4 on a Windows 2000 SP4 laptop last week. Using a Netgear WG511 card. It's been working OK for a couple of days, but today I just started experiencing the issue where netstumbler seems to hang up on the splash screen. CPU goes to 100% and memory starts getting chewed up to the point where I get a low virtual memory warning. I haven't put on any updates, patches or changes since installing netstumbler. Card still works fine connecting to my AP, but something is funky with netstumbler...

NS works well as long it has a connection to an AP. If I leave my AP and loose the signal, NS starts to eat memory at 100% CPU. Coming back into the influence of the AP gets back network connection, but not NS! I tried reverting back to version .3 which worked fine before i loaded .4, now if I un-install .4 and go to 3, the same thing happens.. What I am thinking about trying is .4 on a win98 and see if the issue follows.
