Please confirm this to be a good cardbus wifi adapter to buy
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...745287969&rd=1
I've been reading this forum for hours trying to figure out the best 802.11G cardbus adapter and my eyes are killing me. But I figured out it's impossible to find one for less than $80, and you guys convinced me that G is a waste of money with war driving so I'll take an 11Mbit for now. I just wanna make sure I'm not getting ripped off. I wanted to make sure this is Linux compatible, Netstumbler compatible, whatever compatible with an antenna jack While I'm here, can you please recommend an antenna? Thanks! |

Yeah, that appears to be a Hermes based card so, it looks good. It uses an MC type connector, so I would recomend the 5 dBi omni from http://fab-corp.com obvoiusly with an MC connector. You might want to refer to this http://netstumbler.org/showthread.ph...717#post101717

Wow thanks for the quick response. I appreciate it. I'm gonna order it now and maybe get it a day early. I'll look into that antenna thing, thanks again.
-edit- Damn.. just read that antenna FAQ. No cheap way out huh? Should've known since I got a good price on this wifi card. Can't win em all. Last edited by Bailey : 01-20-2005 at 12:50 AM. |
