promiscuous capture under windows
I have a linksys wusb54g usb wireless dongle, and cannot seem to get it to go into promiscuous mode under windows. I know it works in linux, but for some reason it wont capture any packets in windows XP. I've looked all over for a 3rd party driver that would let me capture packets promiscuously, but I have found nothing. Does anyone know if this is possible?

From my experience and others the cheap ones that are so abundant and easy to find won't do that mode.

My suggestion is to go to linux with a compatible card and you'll be in monitor mode for free. BTW, promiscuous mode is typically associated with wired card. For wireless cards it's usually called monitor mode. I use the Airlink AWN108 which has the Atheros chipset and works well with Commview.
