Purchasing NIC and Antenna
Hello,
I was looking @ fab-corp.com for some parts and wanted to run them by you (anyone) before i purchased. 1) The 5dBi antenna says it comes with a N-Female pigtail. -> Is this the only pigtail I need for the card? 2) The card I am getting is the Orinoco classic wireless gold -> this is the correct card? (or I should say the "preferred" card)? Thank You! - Roast |

One more quick question,
I found this antenna on FAB's website, and it is signifigantly cheaper than the 50 dollar antenna. it is: 5.5 dBi Magnetic Mount Antenna with MC/ORiNOCO it can be seen under their omni-antenna section. If I get this antenna, I would assume i do not need a pigtail? Also, is this an acceptable antenna to use with the classic gold card? Thank you. |

Even FAB Corp admits it's not very good. Because of its design, you will never get 5.5dB. It's more like 0dBi.
