Recommended AP Recorder/Logger (without GPS) ??

Hello all,

I'm looking for recommendations on WarDriving software (for the PDA) that will log details about each AP that it detects as I'm cruising round, saving the details to a Log file on the PDA?

Would also be useful if it could log basic WIFI Net/AP information too - ie: AP Name / Signal Strength etc. As simple as that really.

Then, when I get home I can review the Log of detected AP's for processing. (adding to GPS mapping software I use).

I know alot of the products will display AP's within the vacinity in real time, but I would like to cruise around and leave the PDA running, then when I get home observe what was logged, for reference.
I may not have GPS wired up at the same time, but as long as it is just logging AP's picked up/detected, thats fine.

Just because it's your first post, I won't flame you. Netstumbler has a PDA version called Ministumbler . First check the readme readme to see if your PDA and wireless card are compatible. If in doubt search first!

OK, well I've given Mini-Stumbler a go - BUT it's not going to work with my PDA configuration.
I have an Axim X5, with Symbol (Spectrum24) WIFI CompactFlash Card.
(in Mini-Stumbler, its constantly reporting "No wireless card found").

....It appears the Symbol Card has been discussed to death on the Forums with contradicting reports on whether it works or not!
In my case NOT! Will have to look for an alternative Scanner. Big pity that!

Hey, i'm new here-

have you found another scanner that works with the symbol card?

i'm using my old HP Jornada 545 with the symbol card, but netstumbler doesn't seem to be working- can't seem to find any solutions after looking around for a bit, anyone have any helpful ideas?
