Question toshiba satellite - improving reception

I have a toshiba satellite wifi laptop. I am based in UK and my home office linksys works great all over the building. But I also work out of an office in Kosovo where i can work wifi while i am in the office but my apartment is across the road and I can't get a good enough reception to link from there. concrete walls and distance. The transmitter in the office has inbuilt antenna so I cant add one there and as there are several walls between it and my apartment i wonder what i can do. There is no way of moving the office equipment easily. Can I put an antenna on my computer to boost my reception. I can see 3 networks but all are weak strengths.

First and most importantly DON'T CONNECT TO NETWORKS YOU DO NOT OWN, but to connect to your offices network you might want to look into a high power prism 2.5 card like the SMC or my personal favorite the Senao plus a decent antenna, and like I said only connect to your access point and not someone elses.

What did you say RED? I didn't quite catch it, could you make it a little more clear?

I felt I was justified in yelling that statement. Best to make sure they can't miss it.

FWIW, you may or may not be able to add an antenna to an internal mini-pci card. Another cheap fix I used on the kids' desktop is to use an external USB adaptor with a mini-antenna, and build a parabolic reflector for it. I was able to reject the neighbors' AP's and lock onto the home network. Not bad for 20 minutes, a cardboard box, and some aluminum foil.
