Uber-Noobi3 needs help
Hey guys and dolls, I've been searching all over this site and one or two others trying to find out about this wi-fi stuff. What I have is a Jornada 568 and a SanDisk Compact Flash wi-fi card with 128mb of memory 802.11b.

Can this thing be made to work with ministumbler?? I think I get a card not found error when I tried it. When I run the wi-fi program that came on the cd, I can move around and see it picking up active wi-fi networks in my neighborhood but, they never make a full connection.. Or maybe I just don't know how they're supposed to work.

How are you guys running GPS and the wi-fi cards at the same time?? Can THAT be done on my Jornada?? I have a gps compact flash card as well.. In fact, I've got so much crap for that thing, I carry it all in a small briefcase and it doesn't have much room left.. haha.. I love using the thing because I travel to remote villages throughout Alaska and I can take pics, get on the net, to Cadd work etc.. Just gotta figure out this wi-fi thing somehow..

From what I've gathered, I guess I'm looking at the wardriving part of this hobby. Is that basically driving around or parking someplace and dropping into someone elses wireless network in order to play on the internet??

Where the heck is the idiots guide to all this??

Any help is GREATLY appreciated..

What you've gathered is a bunch of BS. Wardriving is detecting and plotting the location of AP's. Connecting to them is a CRIME, yes, a CRIME, did you get that it's a CRIME to connect to any AP that you do not have explicit permision to connect to.. Understand, it's a CRIME.
