WG302 help
All
I have 2 x WG302 with 2 x ANT24D18 antenas on 3m leads. These are approx 4 miles appart, stuck on standard Television Aerial hockeysticks. I have set the APs to be in bridge mode, channel 11 same SSID WEP off. Driving around I see one of the AP's shows up for most of the trip, but the other does not, not until you get close. How best can I make sure my directional antenna are pointing the right way if I cant physically see the other antenna? is their a guide someone has made up for this? I know the DOCs I have read so far say stay away from water, this is being done in a coastal town in New Zealand, and the waters not too far from my AP's will that make a difference? Any advice would be great as netgears site isn't much help and I havent set anything up of this distance before. Cheers ![]() |

If they are outside (or reasonably close to a window/door) and you have a GPS it should be possible to set a waypoint at the one end, and goto the other and use it as a general guide as to which direction. It won't be too precise, but its a start. The only issue that I can see arising from this is if there is an elevation change as well.
Any further fine tweaking would require probaly several people to help you out, and likely a cell phone to talk between each to see if its being picked up at the other end. |
