what pcmcia or USB will work with win98 or winxp?
1. 802.11B
2. 802.11G wireless adapters: 3. pcmcia wih external antenna jack 4. USB OS: 5. win98 6. winxp I need recommended wireless adapter for the following combinations 1 2 3 5 1 2 3 6 1 2 4 5 1 2 4 6 searching through posts I never find my exact selections not much info on cards with external antenna also very little on 802.11G support I need 802.11B AND 802.11G support I need pcmcia with external antenna conection OR USB adapter I would like to use my old winbook (win98) but I can use my newer notebook with winxp And NO I could not find the infamous "readme file" that is suppose to tell me what cards are supported. I did read: http://www.netstumbler.com/downloads...ease_notes.pdf but it did not answer all my questions. I spent the whole day googling with no luck. Thank you for any help. Ray |

1 2 3 5 Not going to happen; Win98 will NOT work with a G card.
1 2 3 6 Unlikely, but possible. 1 2 4 5 Not going to happen; See above. 1 2 4 6 Very unlikely, but possible. Avoid the drama, and get a ORiNOCO "B" card. And before you ask the next question: A "B" card will detect a "G" network. Quote:
