Where's the Hardware
I don't often involve myself with the rants but usually read the fallout(and great advice)
I do have a question for the group now though. I am in remote Canada and our hardware is somewhat less available and more costly. I like to do some stumbling when I'm on the road. ( I would never look to access a protected network though ) My problem is that I have so far been limited to using the 650+ . This antenna sucks in the trucks ya know. I saw on the NS webpage the card with an external antenna listed at $150 ish and was instantly excited. My Questions: -Is this a good card antenna combo? -are there any recourses where I can research the cards first hand here in Canada? I am on the road a lot( good HW retailers ) It all seems so difficult here. I have not yet found a one stop shop. Many outfits here won't do retail sales. yada yada I would be grateful for any help you have to offer but am somewhat less interested in the ranting. |

i didnt know that i could speak canadian!
anyway you need to clarify what your needs are. do you want a card for stumbling with your laptop ? or do you want some stats on different cards or are you looking for a place that sells these items. just buy an orinoco classic card (not proxim) off ebay. hell even look on ebay for an orinoco antenna, stick it to the roof of the truck, plug in and stumble! |
