I am hoping someone will be able to help me, I have a toshiba satellite pro 4200. i have a xircom network card installed and it works fine, i can access my high speed internet through it. BUT... i just bought a wifi card and after installing it in the card slot and turning on the computer XP didnt detect the card.... I have tried three different brands of wifi cards, any ideas???

So the PC Card based ethernet card works fine... but not the 802.11? Or is the xircom one not PC card?
If that is the case, check the bios to make sure the PC card slots are enabled. I've seen a similar occurance like this before on a compaq and that was the cause. |

similar issue
im having a somewhat similar issue with my sony pcg-fr130 laptop and my linksys g card. xp will recognize the card just fine and install and such, but it wont seem to connect to any networks, my home network nor the one at work. i have double checked all the settings twice, tried new drivers, updated my bios, changed some settings in xp, and nothing seems to work.
the card works great in NS btw... just not for regular network usage.... ![]() any ideas? Last edited by digix : 10-09-2004 at 11:40 AM. |
