Wi-Fi security usage figures

Hi all!

I'm doing a little research project for college all about wi-fi security. I wondered if you guys could help me out with some statistics?

What I'd like to know is what sort of percentage of the WLAN's you come across are secured in any way. 'Secured' would include, for my purposes, any security measure, even if it's a pile of crap! WEP would therefore qualify, and so would MAC Access Control!

I'm trying to find out how many home users and corporate admins are actually using security measures in their WLAN's.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

The stats from the Fourth World Wide WarDrive (www.worldwidewardrive.org) showed approximately 62% unsecured / 38% secured. In addition to the WWWD4 stats, the prior three WWWDs each showed an increase over the last, and each set of stats in listed on the site.
