Windows ME

I'm pitifully mired in the past with a Windows ME system. My immediate challenge is getting to first base with NetStumbler. It seems that Version 3.22 was capable of working with ME -- and maybe more recent versions. Can anyone help me with finding an old stumbler to download -- I'd really appreciate some help in getting started.

The new version will work with ME. But just like the older versions you MUST have a Hermes based card.

You can however find the older versions at michiganwireless...

Windows ME problems

Thanks guys. I didn't realize that the newest versions of NetStumbler worked on ME. I don't have much idea how hard it is to find a card that is based on the Hermes chip set. I wonder, is there a FAQ or something hereabouts or elsewhere that identifies the cards that use the different chip sets?

Re: usage of ME vs. XP/2000 -- I guess it boils down to economics. My old ME-based laptop pretty much otherwise does what I need a laptop for, but it is too slow to do a respectable job of running XP. I can't really cost-justify an upgrade just to take a shot at netstumbling!

Do ya think? No way! Could the release notes and readme file actually contain some usefull information on card selection?

I wonder what a search for "Hermes" would turn up?

Basically it all boils down to this... RTFM (README) and SEARCH!
