Wireless One Mile Away
Hi Guys,
I need help. I have set up a wired network and it works just fine. I want to get internet about one mile away from my original network. I know how to build a "cantenna" to get the signal out that far. My main concern is what do I need at the other end? I haven't purchased any equipment yet, so I'm open to suggestions. I have two pc's at the recieving end. Can a wireless router "receive" or do I need a wireless bridgeand a wired router to get both of the hooked up? Will I need an external antenna at the receiving end also? The transmitting end is on a two story building to a one story building on the receiving end. Some foliage around the receiving end. I don't want to mess around with experimentation too much. Which is why I am deferring to the superior knowledge of the guru's here. Please help me. Lazersnake |

Expect to spend hundreds of dollars that isn't going to guarantee anything will work without some experimentation. I suggest you do some searching on the forum.
