Avatar hot-linking
I realise this is probably built into vBulletin as a security feature, however is it possible for the avatars to be hot-linked from a url instead of being cached on the forum server?

I believe that it is wiser to have the avatar's directly on the hosting server, otherwise you'll have some assjack out there on Mom&Pop's Webhosting service with a 28.8k dialup connection with his avatar, and we'd all have to wait for their host to give up the avatar.

No hotlinking, but you can put in an URL from where the vBulletin server will get the image you want to use..

That's such a shame, I've got a php script set up to generate a random parade of tamagotchi creature thumbnails. Oh well.

I did that on a VAX once, while online I had a script running that would change my name every 5 seconds, along with some "scroller" scripts

Remember kids, unless you want to waste a ream of tractor paper, don't forget NoPrint
