Bluetooth For All

And just in case you already have a Serial GPS (Etrex/Etc)
here is a product to turn ANY serial RS232 device Into a
Bluetooth connected device. It even runs on Batteries.

So cable free yet still 100% connected. Imagine war-walking with an iPAQ in the palm of your hand, GPS and antannae in your backpack, but not having to be hassled with wires and cables. Wow, the joy. It might even look like you're up to something...normal.

Aren't there interference/conflict issues with bluetooth and 802.11b?

Yes, indeed; same frequency range, and major interference issues. So to paraphrase ARPAN3T:
Imagine war-walking with an iPAQ in the palm of your hand, GPS and antannae in your backpack, but not receiving a damned thing.

This will no doubt soon start a whole new series of questions: "Why doesn't NetStumbler work when I use my Bluetooth devices." Immediately followed by the usual screaming and flames by the like of... well, me for instance.

If you have bluetooth and 802.11 in your iPAQ, there will be conflict because these two wireless technology were using the same frequency though different spread spectrum....

I configured my iPAQ to primary use 802.11 and bluetooth as my secondary option only. I myself haven't play on bluetooth ...busy stumbling ...hehe

This is interesting link to read ...

Well most people think that I am too old, ugly and opininated to be a bot. Although you could make an argument that by virtue of being one of the Unholy Trinity* of Moderators of the FAQ forums, I am a the next closest thing. Besides, like my tag line says: "Part Man, Part Machine..."

*blackwave, lincomatic, & Thorn. Wow! Scary, huh?

Bluetooth changes channels if there is interfearance..... Be cerious to see it under a stumbleing postion, being the channels are being changed soo quickly.
