Cheap Ipaq Sleeves

Anyone know how to get a decent deal on an IPAQ sleeve? Does anyone other than Compaq/HP make something that would do the job? The prices from Compaq seem excessive.

By the way, I have an IPAQ 3670.

Supply and demand my friend. Did you know that printer cartridges cost <5p to make. But people want them so they sell for £25.

Also, have you seen the price of pig tails??

"why sir, this 8 inch cable with two mini plugs will cost you £20. Why the high price? Well it did take me two minutes to make!"

I know TDK makes a BlueTooth/CF sleeve but it actually costs more than the Compaq model so while it's possible, I don't think there are any cheaper sleeves out there (PC Card or CF) unless they are of lower quality. At least that I know of.

I recently bought a single slot Compaq expansion sleeve for my iPaq (802.11b radio card) off www.mobileplanet.com for about $129 (new). Seemed to be a good price and comparable to those auctioning on eBay. They shipped right away and didn't screw me on the shipping charges.

Enjoy!

If your looking for a compact flash card, I got mine new for 40 bucks at amazon, and also it has been discontinued so it will be cheaper. (Has been replaced by a CF sleeve with battery, might wanna wait, wish I did)

I was in the same boat - I wanted to play with PCMCIA cards and the iPaq but couldn't really justify the price. Then I ran across this:

http://www.semsons.com/comflastopcc.html

I ordered one on 7/11 and it got here yesterday (7/15). Works like a charm. And no, that black part doesn't stick straight up. It's rubber and can actually be folded so that the card is laying flat agains the iPaq CF sleeve - pointing at the ground. This was a much better option - it's only $30 with shipping.

Actually, getting my iPaq upand going with the wireless card brought me out here to see if I could get into stumbling. Looks like I need a different card for it. Any suggestions on the most cost effective one?

I've wanted this one or so long, but unfortunately I have higher financial priorities.

Yeah, I think I am supposed to as well... but my will is weak, I always lose priority when it comes to technology...
