Unhappy Error on Jornada 720 with Ministumbler...

I keep reading how Ministumbler works with HPC2000 but for some reason I am unable to get mine to work on my HP Jornada 720. I have installed it to the default directory using ActiveSync, which appears to complete correctly with no errors. After the install I go to the 720 and double-click on the Ministumbler exe that I find within Program Files/MiniStumbler folder. As soon as I do this I get the following error:

"Cannot find 'MiniStubmler' (or one of it's components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that ll the required libraries are available."

I have tried the Ministumbler 4.0 install as well as the 4.0.1 install and both give me this error. Can anyone offer any advice?

I have the same problem on my Jornada 720 (German version), even though HPC2000 is listed as
supported as of version 0.4.0. My knowledge of Windows (and Windows CE in particular) is close to zero,
unfortunately. I installed some ltrace/strace-like tool, called `peinfo', and found out that apparently the library `iphlpapi' is missing on my system:

Jornada 720 problem solved

OK, here's how I saved my Jornada 720 from the dumpster:
- removed wrong MiniStumbler version using the WinCE Software control panel
- used ActiveSync to copy
Programme\Microsoft ActiveSync\MiniStumbler\MiniStumbler.HPC200.ARM.CA B
to Temp Directory on my Jornada
- started CAB on the Jornada, installs the correct version of MiniStumbler
- works with my Siemens I-Gate 11M card using the Linksys WPC11-driver

If you're familiar with MiniStumbler and all that WinCE stuff, this may be obvious.
It wasn't for me. And I didn't find a proper description here or elsewhere.
Some sort of insinuation in a forum post brought me on the right track.
However, I'm happy.

Error message when starting Ministumbler

I am getting an error when starting ministumbler. It says
"Cannot find ministumbler (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and all required libraries are available."

I am running Windows for PC Handheld 2000 (WinCE 3.0)
and Linksys WPC11 ver 3.0 PC Card. It is activated and seems to try to look for Net, but the software that linksys provides isn't too helpful when trying to find hotspots. Please let me know where I need to be installing the program. Maybe I should change from installing to default directory? Please help...

Thanks!

What device?
The Linksys cards aren't really recommended.
Let the MS installer place it in the default directory. Do not override any settings.

When you execute the MiniStumbler installation program on your PC (not your PocketPC), it creates a folder, where all the different .cab files for the different PocketPC architectures then will reside.

If you reread post # 3 in this thread, you should be able to deduce where that folder is located on your own PC.

OK I found the CAB file and moved it into the temp directory of my jornada. When I clicked on it it says you already have this installed would you like to re-install? I click yes, and then it finish. But when I click on netstumbler again it says the same thing. Did I miss a step along the way? How should I start this over?
