Hey!!!! I got it working now... I had moved the wrong CAB file to the temp dir.
Thanks a bunch!!! Is it possiible to modify my Linksys to acomodate an external Cantenna? I have seen it done with the Cisco Aironet cards. Also I am not getting any presence of APS in my area, is that normal at first? Or should I move about? Thanks abunch!!!

You do know you can SEARCH for information here right?

Is it not even picking up your AP?

What kind of testing would that be? Was/is it able to see your AP?

I think we need to sanitize this thread and move in with the other nearly identical one.

Well, I did a test run on the Ministumbler and so far it's pretty fun. The thing is.. I pick up signals and they drop right away...So what is it that is causing that? Can it be that my card is not strong enough to pick up the signals? Or is there a setting I can change to get a better signal? Also, how do you establish a link once you get a green signal?(Which I haven't yet).

I do not think the program does what you think it does. NS is not to be used for connecting to AP's. You shouldn't be connecting to AP's that you are not authorized to connect to.

Right... Ok... Please pardon me for I am just starting out with this Wi-Fi hobby and do not really know that much yet. I really do appreciate all the insight and help from you guys.

For example, we have a few hotspots around here. (like Starbucks) How would I hop on to their AP for I Access? That is basically what I was looking to do...

If you know the hotspots are there, then you really don't need MS. Use the client manager built into the device which you're trying to connect with.

Weak signals.

Yes. It's dependant on the card's RX sensitivity.

Yes. Use the Linksys connection utility. Most places HotSpot locations like Starbucks will have a brochure with full instructions, or a staff member who you can ask for information.
