Handy new car mount!
There's a new model of car mounts for iPaqs. These let you plug a serial cable directly into the mount, no iPaq cable required. Works with 31/36/37/38/3900s.

Not a bad little unit. I guess for the best reception though, and not to worry about the glass, we either need a convertible or we need to mount the devices outside the car, like the old rear view mirrors on the sides of the hood. Yea, have a GPS on one side and iPaq on the other...cool.

Agree with Blackwave..Sucky sucky...
No way in hell would I drill a couple of holes in my dash for a mount. I would rather have a mount that sucks to the windshield and can hold my Jornada and Etrex.....

An etrex fits nicely in the phone slot? I figured that might be the case but I wasn't sure so I was holding back on (considering) buying one until I found out. I wouldn't want something I paid $300 for to hit the floor.

OK
I've had a thought [watch out] what if you were to just mount and old PCMCIA sleeve, dual or single somewhere in the car? then you could use the separate power and data that the older sleeves have to avoid the data/power issues of the new ipaqs. [i have yet to find a combo data/power for 3900] i have a dual that i will try it with this weekend, i ordered one of these today will have it on tuesday so the entire setup GPS+ipaq can be tested then. http://datanywhere.net/Merchant2/mer...y_Code=cradles eamonn
