how to get ministumbler working?

Sorry about the double post, but I thought this would work better in a new thread...

I am trying to run Ministumbler on an ipaq 3600 series ppc2002sp1 with an orinoco silver card (driver ver7.42-pfv4.0 sfv8.10). have followed instructions on installation, but ministumbler freezes when i try to run it (it also uses up lOTS of program memory). I cant access the ministumbler menus or anything. what am i doing wrong?

Just apply a soft reset.

Does it freeze...

Does it freeze when you keep the Orinoco silver card out of the unit? How about when you run the Ipaq "naked" (without the PC card sleeve)? Do you have any Today Screen plug-ins that look for storage cards, etc..?

Run iTask and close all your programs (or better go to Settings, System tab, memory, running programs and end all there.) Unload any Today Screen plug-ins that might be suspect, and then try MiniStumbler.

Also, for the iPaq, make sure you have loaded ministumbler for the ARM processor.

Another thing to check.. if you've tinkered with the gps options, and chosen a com port that doesn't exist, ministumbler will lock up on startup.

The only way around this is to open up a registry editor to
\HKCU\Software\Bogosoft\MiniStumbler\Settings and change 'GPS Port' to '0'

Set the GPS setting to 1 not 0 as this will also mess-up ministumbler.

Port 3 is your Ir so dont use that
