HP Jornada 680 - wlan sniffing

hi there,

a few days ago I got a HP Jornada 680 H/PC, that runs
wince 2.11.
i hoped to get ministumbler running on it, cause it also
has got sh3 cpu, which actually is provided by mini_stumbler.

1.) so...does in only run on pda or is there a possibility
to make it run on my little machine??

2.) if not, which wince software (non-commercial) could
i use to scan APs, or sniff wlan traffic??

thanx

Is there any way you can upgrade your OS to wince 3.0? I don't think ministumbler will work on wince version 2.1. (Though I haven't tried)

I have ministumbler working perfectly on my Jornada 567 w/ Pocket PC 2002 (aka Wince 3.0)

Post Jornada 680..720

This reminds me to the threats of last month regarding J720:

Although the J720 utilises Handheld PC 2000 (WinCE 3.0), it is not able to stumble either.
Marius was trying to port to the HPC (besides PPC).

Any news from this? I am willing to beta-test for J720 if necessary.

I have Jornada 690 and there is no way to upgrade 2.11 to 3.0 it is static ROM based.

I wish it could be upgraded because the 690 is a MUCH more useful than my Jornada 548 PPC.

Also CE 3.0 and CE/PPC2002 are different enough to warrant different drivers for several devices. Even the iPaq apparently had a CD available from Compaq to upgrade CE 3.0 to PPC2002.

My Enterasys cards CSIBD-AA (Hermes /Silver) work perfectly in the 690 and I can even access shares on my network PCs with it as well as browse the internet much better than with the 548 PPC. Also stays synchronized across the network with Outlook much better than by using ActiveSync in the dock.

I also use a Jornada 680 with an Enterasys card. I just run RoamAbout Client. It is not high tech or geek cool, but it gets me connected.

Will you PLEASE pay attention to the date? This thread was dead and buried over three years ago.

What are the pros and cons of having an automatic close on threads over, say, 12 months old? Seems like a good idea to me, but I'm sure there is a downside I've not considered.

That would be fine with me, but aFR and bks are the only two who could do it. That is also assuming that this verision of the forum software even allows it.

I'm sure it could be easily done with an external script that would run on the server every night.. It could scan the database, looking for any thread that hasn't had a post in 1 year or more then just change the threadlock flag from unlocked to locked. As good as aFR and bks are, I bet they could do it in no time. Simple SQL Query/Update.

Run as fast as you possibly can to the WELCOME DESK and read everything there. Then start over and read it all again.

If there's an SH3 2.11 binary and all that is holding you is really that, I'll be most glad to pack it or even give you the source for my app. The Jornada 6x0 is alive and kicking, to the point which many users stumble with this thread among others from Google all the time. I may have had it working had I only come across a COREDLL.DLL for SH3, and the SH3 binary from the latest release (which seems to be, though, for CE 3.0) by hex-editing them both. I can still try if there even is one.

That's all I really wanted to say, but not before hearing:
