iPAQ and GPS question
I need the cable that gives the iPAQ a DB9 connector for the serial port so I can connect it to my new GPS unit via the data cable. Those of you that have one, where did you purchase it? I'd like to spend as little as possible, but it looks like a 6 inch cable is going to cost me 30 dollars US!
Oh.... and ministumbler rocks, but it would rock harder with the GPS data. Thanks guys,

Actually that should be if you have the AutoSync cable, or you could use the cradle if it has a serial connection. you'll need a null modem adapter, and a gender changer (so the cables will connect)

Ok, I got the regular RS-232 cable (which should make the Null Modem adapter not needed). I'm waiting on my data cable now. Is there anything I need to set up in the Ipaq (other than MiniStumbler) to make it work properly?

Frist if you have any type of Keyboard, you'll need to disable the driver for it to be able to use the Com1 port. Second You'll need to set your GPS to NMEA @ 4800 and to Hddd.ddddd mode. That should take care of most things. Grey |
