No WiFi card detected in MiniStumbler and PocketWarrior ... yet card works great
Great forum.
The Wifi card in my Pocket PC works great and I know that there are many WiFi networks around me (the Pocket PC's connection settings notices at least 4). But when I run either MiniStumbler or PocketWarrior on my Pocket PC, no wifi card is detected. I know that the WiFi card is there because it is working!! Now how do I get MiniStumbler or PocketWarrior to recognize them? Both claim to work with my card, I think. Any suggestions? It is an HP iPaq 2215 (Pocket PC) with WiFi in a CF card which is a Linksys WCF12. |

You did read the README, right? Official MiniStumbler README Look at the MiniStumbler (bottom) section of the compatiblity list . The only CF card listed is the Dell Truemobile 1180 CF.

Using unsupported hardware can have strange results like not working at all.
However on my iPaq I use a WCF12 with PocketPC 2002 it is working as expected. I searched the internet as well this forum and found a solution. If I loaded WCF11 drivers MS would recognise the card. The card finds networks, doesn't latch on to random APs, doesn't lock up. Of course I don't get noise data but I don't need it anyway. Justin |
