Marius has been working on it and has had minimal (which is better than none) success with the Symbol. The Symbol was chosen because it was a Type I form factor (so all CF users can use it) and the SDK was readily available.
I am trying to get the SDK for the Prism stuff but it doesn't look promising. We are all waiting patiently for the day the new thread starts, "Symbol is now supported"... ![]() -Mc |

Aw come on. ..
Care to share? I was gonna go out and buy one tonight until I saw your post... Can you at least give us a better time frame than "soon"? Or tip us to the manufacturer to start looking out for? Honest.... I won't tell anyone else. ![]() |

Honestly, I don't know what the time frame is. All I can say is that there's going to be one (I assume in about a month or so from what I was told) and it will be based on the Hermes chipset. It *WILL* work with the current version of NetStumbler and MiniStumbler.
If you need one right away (or can't wait a month), get the Symbol card. It seems to be the best card out there right now. But if you can wait a month or two, I'd say wait. As soon as I get some details, I'll post. Trust me... I'm waiting. I don't know if it's CF I or CF II so depending on your PDA, it may not be an option. If you want further clarification, find me on the NetStumbler IRC channel. I'm usually there in the evenings (US time). -Mc Last edited by McHale : 05-07-2002 at 09:40 AM. |
