PocketDHCP v0.20 released!

here is the latest version of my free app for PocketPC 2002.
new features:
1) new info box w/ more detailed information such as gateway,
DHCP server, DNS, etc etc.
2) automatic refresh after DHCP operation is completed

remember, this is for machines running PocketPC 2002 ONLY.
the DHCP API's aren't available on previous versions of the OS, so it WILL NOT WORK on older versions of PocketPC.

i would like to add code to change static IP's on the fly too, but haven't been successful yet.
i have some code for changing ip numbers but nothing that can change the whole profile (i.e. gateway, dns, etc). if anyone can point me to sample code to do this, please do so and i'll add the feature in.

enjoy.

No problems so far. However, I can't really do the release/renew thing right now as I just received my Orinoco Gold card and I'm still ironing out the wrinkles of using two cards with one machine. Of couse I can't use them at the same time because of form factor limitations but it would rock if I could!

For your debugging pleasure

Error Starting Program

The WINDHCP.EXE file is
linked to missing export IPHLPAPI.DLL:GetPerAdapterInfo.

followed by

[unzipping path]\windhcp\WinDHCP.exe

[unzipping path]\windhcp\WinDHCP.exe

A device attached to the system is not functioning.

I'm using a linksys 538tX nic with Win98Se.

Resizing under Windows

I agree...it absolutely needs to be resizable.

blackwave & pforkes: man u guys are demanding! sorry, can't do that resizing thing i've already taken too much time out from my regular job working on this thing...maybe in a future release...it's a lot of extra work to do that.
as the jewish grandma sez: "whadaya want fa nothin'?"

c-mag: sorry, just checked my doc's. GetPerAdapterInfo() is
only available on Win2000 & XP. unsupported in Win9x

So how do I add this to my menu?

OK, so I created a folder called \Pocket DHCP in \Program Files on my iPaq.
Now, how do I create a short cut or, better still, add it to the menu on my Today screen? If I open Settings and click on Menus it's not listed.
Peter
PS I'm using PC 2002.

Thanks, can't wait for the next rev. Perhaps you can add a timer so that we can input how many s/m/h/d we want to auto release and renew ?

pforkes: if you want a today screen add-on instead u can try nirosys's transform program instead. you can d/l it at http://www.nirostasis.net

blackwave: sorry, i don't know what u mean by using a timer and specifying s/m/h/d... can u elaborate?
currently u just operate on 1 adapter at a time...whichever one is selected in the top list view.
