Prism and Hermes
I was looking for the web site for the two chip set makers. I found the Prism and was able to down load a utility that works with all Prism chip sets.
But I had no luck in finding the Hermes site. If anyone has the link I would like to see what they have to say and see if there is any thing worth downloading. Thanks in Advance |

HERMES is a Lucent/Orinoco/Avaya product and the SDK is supposedly only available to OEMs.
While almost all HERMES cards are electronically and physically identical and you can eventually flash just about any firmware image on any card (given the right tools/apps), each OEM tends to have its own distinctive feature set and management application and most are not compatible across vendors (e.g. my Enterasys apps only manage the card when Enterasys firmware is flashed and will not recognize the card if another vendor image is flashed) |

It gets back to the fact that there are two types of ORiNOCO OEMs. One set (like Avaya, IBM and Compaq) OEM the entire card from ORiNOCO (soon to be manufacturer by Proxim). Other OEMs just buy the ORiNOCO chipset and build the rest of the card themselves. Those vendors will continue to buy the chipset from Agere, not Proxim.
