Antenna Connector on 8470-FC What Is It's Designation
Antenna Connector on 8470-FC What Is It's Designation. I can't find it in any of the documentation as it's refered to as the external connector in all the doc's

if you go to Fab-corp and look for pigtails for the Orinoco classic card, that will have the correct one.. I want to say MMCX or MMC but I think I would be wrong.. Fab-Corp's site just calls it the Orinoco/Avaya connector.

Are you getting the urge to build an antenna? It would be easier to buy the pigtail/cable pre-ended. This way you know it was done right.

It's a mc card connector.


Thanks for the link. I was looking at that site very interesting. Just how much range can one get with their wireless network with an amp, and the right antenna?

Also with amp that does POE, does that mean you can actually send dc power over the wireless signal?

No! It uses an injector and puts the DC right on the coax. And is it really listed as POE? POE is Power Over Ethernet and uses the unused pairs for the power.

here is the link at fab-corp where i saw this

I thought it was strange to as I thought you could only do that with microwaves.

Looks like it gives you the option of POE (see first link above) and also supports a standard DC input. Not sure why they opted for POE rather than the usual coax injector as you still have to run an additional cable to it. I guess one benefit I see is you do not have to run AC to it (for the 12VDC power supply). But it is not an outdoor amp either.
