Unhappy antenna connector help!!!!!

above is the connector I bought, on the left side I screwed on my pigtail and on the right side I want to attach my rg-213 cable, do I just slide it onto the pin or do I need another connector?

That's an N female bulkhead/panel connector. It is designed to be soldered to cable like LMR.

What are you trying to do?

what if I just soldier the core of the rg-213 cable into the pin, will that work or do I have to have the outside shielding touching.

Solder the center conductor of the cable to the center pin of the connector. Use low/mederate heat, sparingly. The dielectric melts pretty easily.

I don't know what design you're building, but if the RG-213 still has any braid/shield, this will have to be grounded to the outer shell, too. This can be soldered or bolted to the shell via the bolt holes.

The shield must be a solid conducting connection, or it will be a piss-poor antennna.

You can, but it's hard to do with this type of connector. For someone with little experience, it is better to gather some braid together and put it in a solderless crimp connector; the type that has a round eyelet on the end. Then bolt that to the connector using the bolt holes. Make sure you use at least one star washer to get a good connection.
