Question which antenna should I get?

Hi,
I have a wavelan orinoco silver card and I would like to get an antenna to enhance reception, in my building there are tons and tons of open wireless.
I looked on ebay and found that, what do you think?
any other Ideas for a cheap antena ?

you should get an antenna that suits your needs. how about doing some research on your own before posing questions about something you aren't sure about. btw, I wouldn't bother with the link you posted... if you want a decent omni get the fab-corp 5dBi omni magmount that has its own ground plane. (you really do get what you pay for)

because I am really new to this and I am trying to figure out what my needs are exactly.
This antenna says +5.5dbi but do I need more, do I need less, I am not even sure what I need ?!?!?
and that's why I am looking for help to learn and see what I need

this is why you need to check out the FAQs and find what is best for you... you don't even know what you need an antenna for.. maybe you don't need one for your use... whatever use that may be.

Try reading this thread, including Thorn's antenna explanation at the end.

Then if you still have questions, try a google search for antennae types and radiation patterns.

well I click on FAQ in this site and it took me to this forum so if this isn't the right place, can you point me to the FAQ?

Basicaly when I am at home my wireless card is getting a really low signal for the AP in my building. I would like to get a better signal
