Which AP?
Folks,
after drooling over the rig pics and trying to figure out what to get where, I've come across the USR WLAN PCMCIA deal over at CDW. They also have tons of APs on close-out - can anyone recommend a good AP from the list? Thanks! cu -pete |

Just FYI ... USR is a Prism based card which will not work if you intend to use NS ... You need a Hermes based card such as an Orinoco/Lucent.
As far as the AP ... Just go with a reliable brand ... All should work about the same.

It would seem that I need a cord for NS and a card for Sniffing, so I'm going USR and Lucent (or CISCO).
There are so many APs listed, I haven't got a clue what the differences might be on some of them - I mean, there's like 20 3COM wirless gateways alone - or is that not even a proper AP?... Oh well, more research :-)) |
