Ofcourse

Ofcourse it is,

But, from what I can tell, the stock antenna doesn't screw off. So, you will need to open up your router, and attatch a connector to the antenna cable, then you can make an adapter for your current antenna or make a new one or whatever....

Dunno

Hey There,

I don't think I have seen inside the AP you have, but the AP's of mine I have opened and the ones I have seen online, generally the coax is soldered to the board, and the antenna is permanently attatched to the coax as well. So your best bet would be to go out and buy something like reversepolarity SMA connectors ar just use N-type connectors and attatch your own tote AP, then ouh hae some options about he antenna's.

Either have I.

I just need to know what is involved to attach an aftermarket antenna. not just the net gear but all AP's.

How do I tap into the antenna cable if I have to.

Couldn't understand that last part

Generally, to attach an antenna, you need RF connectors, transmission cable and the antenna. Specifics vary all over the place, according to brand of AP, brand of antenna, cable needed, and connectors used. Cable type, size and cost vary according to the intented application, and the desired loss/gain.

You don't "tap" an antenna cable. You cut it, and place a connector on it.

JimEther is referring to antenna connectors. "N" is one common type, "Reverse Polarity SMA" is another. Spend some time at the site of a vendor who sells antennae, cable and connectors and you'll have at least some idea of what's involved. (e.g. www.fab-corp.com)

Sorry

Hey There,

I just wanted t say I was sorry for the awful spelling and such in the last post I made in this topic... I use a wireless keybard and the batteries were giving out... I finally picked up new ones. Although, I should have proof read the post before submitting. My bad.

And in respect to what Thorn said, Ditto. Read some basic RF Technology stuff, maybe check out some Ham Radio web sites and stuff... it will go a long way in helping you understand what's going on behind those LED's.
