Belkin 802.11 USB adapter take Apart W/pictures

Has anyone taken one of these belkins apart?
I finally bought a Belkin 802.11 USB adapter on sale this week at Compusa $59-10 instant and 30 mail in rebate=$20.00. Cheap enough installed Apple Drivers OS9 & OS X. The radio detected a few networks when I ran it in peer to peer mode but very weakly maybe 5% on status bar. As I am in a concrete apartment and my computer is 20 ft from an exterior wall I was delighted to see anything.
Want to put an cantenna and pigtail on this radio and was wondering if anyone has been able to remove the antenna leaving a nice clean smc or whatever it is interface?
Other option is soldering as per the pictures/ links.
As I once burned down a house with some faulty automobile wiring I am hesitant to go that route. If anyone has removed the antenna of this Belkin baby without destroying the case please post. Hope the pictures help someone, took me awhile to find them.

It looks like it would dead simple to replace an antenna with a RP-SMA connector (check on the availability of pigtails first!) I'd suggest taking it to a shop that specializes in ham equipment.

If I recall correctly, the links were just internal pics of the belkin adapter. You can find similar ones on the FCCID search page, or just open your own adapter.
