Money is always an issue...you could easily blow through a couple grand on a setup. Mine's starting to push 1G now...and that's just the overall hardware costs.

Assuming your software is legit, you could go from zero (running linux and all the goodies) to $500+ (XP w/ MP2k2, SA9.0, etc.) without breaking a sweat.

Let me get back to you with a laundry list of goodies.

Wow, I didn't think it would be that much. Let say I already have access to a laptop with WinXP on it and I use the Netstumbler software. What then would be the best card, antenna, gps to use.

Thanks!

Cool.. I am ordering all that now.

But focus more on the wireless equipment. Is the orinoco gold card the best? What the best antennas and Gps units?

The orinoco gold works great, I have one.

( I have the 5dBi model)
You can get the pigtail from fab-corp also.

Not sure on GPS, I have a Garmin GPS12 and it works just fine.
