Best Wardriving antenna ever
After buying a lot of antenna's my best antenna ever is a daimond MG-200
![]() 7 dBi = 5 dBD 300 g 60 cm MG-200 limited bandwith: Use only on WLAN channel 2 to 5. (didn't have any problems with other channels, even on channel 14 is works beter than other antenna's) Tested the antenna with a 12dBi antenna on a high building and using a 200mWatt 14 channel Senao card, I got a connection 5,5 Km from the other antenna. normaly it's on my car but i don't have pictures of that ![]() ![]() Last edited by Metaboe : 07-31-2004 at 01:54 AM. |

I think my antenna is the best ever. Then again, I built it, so I'd better think it's the best thing since sliced bread.
![]() In urban areas, high gain is not desirable. You want to get vertical polarization, and an escape from the faraday cage (your car)... but you don't have that problem. ![]() An omni with 3 dbd on a car roof will generate a real 6 dbd (groundplane effect from the car roof, effectively doubling the size of the antenna, like mirroring it). Likewise, a 9 dbd antenna (wow, that's big) would deliver 12 dbd on the roof. At this point, you will have squeezed your donut pattern down so much, that tall buildings will be mostly inaccessible to you. This system, however, would be great for rural areas where your targets are farther out on the horizon. *yawn* Sorry for any malformed sentences and whatnot, or bad info... but wow... I need sleep. |
