Bridge between DLink/Linksys and Orinoco
I have a Proxim/orinoco 802.11b card which I use for war driving [and war boating
] anyway I've decided to pick up a wireless bridge and hook it up to a switch in m,y house for when i need to raid my server for files with my laptop. Will I have to do much playing around to get my orinoco card to communicate with a DLink DWL-810 or Linksys WET11 wireless bridge? anyone here been successful with a combination of these products? |

The ORiNOCO works just fine with the Linksys WET11. The hardest part is using 128 bit WEP, as the both speak the same dialect, but use different methods to get the keys to work. Search on these forums and Linksys' website for the details.
Unless you specifically need the bridging capabilities, don't disregard the WAP11. Sometimes the WAP11 can be found at a cheaper price than the WET11.

I really don't want to go for a full blown WAP but if I can get it cheaper than the bridge it might be worth it. I saw the D-Link bridge for $50 after a mail-in rebate somewhere thats what got me curious in the first place.
