Broken Linksys AP
Hello Folks,
I have a Linksys 802.11 router/switch. The 802.11 piece of it is broken... According to thier tech support. I have replaced it, just wondering if there was anything useful in it... Or if any one has taken one apart and tried to repair one? The Router/NAT/switch still works just fine. The WLAN Link light does not come on and it cant't be seen by any 802.11 cards. |

The BEFW11S4 has a normal pcmcia card inside it.. It's possible that the card has become unseated. Since it's already out of warranty, you might consider taking it apart and trying to reseat the card..
What do you have to loose? |

Hmmm, Thanks Wanderer...
It does indeed have a wireless pcmcia card in it, one that attaches to the antennas. It appeared to be seated properly, I am going to try a few things to make it functional again. If that does not work, I will see if I can get the card to work in my laptop, with the antenna I might get better range stumbling. If anyone needs to see the inside of a BEW11s4 let me know I will snap a few digital photos. thanks |
