If the (damaged) cable will be exposed to moisture there is a good possibility of degraded performance.

Here is fairly good read on "Microwave and RF Cable Assemblies".

If you see it early enough, like right after you do it, plasti-dip will seal it pretty good. Also called liquid electrical tape. Though you might want to start saving up for a replacement.
