For Canadians, cheap wifi router...

A friend pointed this out to me.

Futureshop.ca has a sale ending Sept 8th. In it they have a TRENDnet TEW-431BRP Wireless G Router on for $5 after rebates and discounts.

http://www.trendnet.com/en/products/TEW-431BRP.htm

Not the best unit on the market, however, as a spare unit, or one to play with in the lab, can't beat $5. Mine will probobly end up being stripped down and built into something else cute and fluffy.

Identified, undoubtedly, as Experiment 626.

renderman, did you come up with any fun projects for this router? I have recently picked up the replacement for it the TEW-432BRP.

I am fairly new to the wifi world but have spent quite a bit of time reading through the forums here in the last week and have really gained an appreciation for the world of wifi (and the knowledge available on this forum) but would like to learn more by playing with some hardware. This is a backup router for me as well, if you have any ideas of something interesting let me know as I am willing to try it out.

If you are ever looking to wardrive in Saskatchewan let me know!

Nothing yet, though they are great to have as backup and in the trunk for those inevitable client explosions.

I don't think I'll be going to sask any time soon, sorry.
