Cisco 340 client card, 30mw, enough for stumbling?
I have a few of these from dead access points that I pulled..they have the dual diversity antennas, and seem to work fine. I have a couple of Cushcraft S2406P 6dbi panel antenna's I was thinking about using to stumble...positioning them to point out the front of my vehicle towards each side.
My question is, is a 30mw card enough for a decent stumbling rig with these antennas, or should I look for something more? yes I know this card is not supported by NS, but I'm running XP, and I have them available, and they work! Another somewhat related question is, why are my cards and the access points they came out of 30MW, yet I have 1 access point that I use (still works) that is 50mw? Did Cisco change the power output of these mid-production? Or is it a bios upgrade/flash that I can do? Last edited by Dillio : 10-10-2003 at 09:32 AM. |

in fact I did search the forums, but being I have a Cisco 340 card, and not an Orinoco, I did not search for Orinoco. Make sense?
But thanks for the info, I guess that answers my question, albeit somewhat indirectly. Last edited by Dillio : 10-10-2003 at 10:17 AM. |
