Combo Routers
Anyone have a recommendation for an all in one unit?
Firewall(SPI) VPN Wireless(b) I know netgear has one but I have heard some bad vibes on it. Any other recommendations? For home use, so something like a Cisco is not really necessary. Thanks for any input |

That thing was a POS (maybe the new version is better). That thing would work like a million bucks but when ever you started downloading a file larger than a couple of megs it would drop the connection. I tried several different versions of the firmware and ended up going 4 versions back to get the thing to a usable state. This applied for transfering files on the local network as well. Just my 0.075 cents. Plus it looks like he wants vpn server builtin and the 614 did not have that feature. |

Which one...?
The 614 or the 614+
I may be confused as I have been workin with different AP's over the last few days... I thought the 614+ supported VPN and such... I'll have to check now. BTW: I have transfered 60+MB files with the 614+ without any issues. Actually, I haven't had asingle issue yet. With the 614+ that is... a WET11 wouldn't stay conncted if encryption was enabled though. **EDIT** From the manual or such Quote:

Sure... Get an old P2 or something Install a 10/100 NIC and a
wireless card, Run one of the many Linux FW programs, such as IPCOP Don't rely on the stand alone stuff, it's all $hit...

Oops.
Hey There,
I saw that, but figured it wasn't what he meant to say, don't know why I thought that... anyway, I think the 'build a new computer or buy a used one' option is always the best option when feasible... lets see what they have to say.
